The 2026 Global Big Day will take place on May 9th.
What is Global Big Day? The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s annual Global Big Day Bird Count is a celebration of birds and their global citizenship that connects us all. Last year, Global Big Day brought more than 72,000 people from around the world, recording nearly 8,000 bird species in a single day of birding!
To join the celebration, SVC will host a Birds and Buds Naturalist Walk in the Bigfork area (exact location to be announced) from 9 am to noon.
During this guided outing, we’ll focus on the birds returning to the region and the habitats they depend on. Together, we’ll also complete an eBird checklist to contribute to the global birding community!
