  • You do not have to be enrolled in a university to take these courses, and in fact, the University of Montana credit and associated fees are optional.

We frequently have recently graduated students and nontraditional students in our college field programs.

In Wildlife in the West generally, about 70%-100% of our students are enrolled in a university and 50%-100% are traditional students (19-22 years old).

In our weeklong Wildlife Tracks and Sign course, about 50% of the students are enrolled in college and the other 50% are professionals and retirees.

In Master Naturalist we tend to see a smaller percentage of traditional college age students and the majority of the participants are professionals and retirees.
