AIS Monitoring

When the Swan watershed’s pristine lakes were threatened by aquatic invasive species last year, we joined a regional collaborative effort with Montana FWP, the Missoula County Weed District,  the Blackfoot Challenge, and Clearwater Resource Council to protect our lakes and the economic, recreational, and ecological resources they provide both locals and visitors. Community member volunteers spent the summer helping us monitor Swan, Holland, Lindberg, and Van Lakes for signs of quagga and zebra mussels to ensure these tiny, pesky invaders did not set up house in our pristine waters.

Join our 20th anniversary $20,000 fundraising challenge and help us continue our work protecting some of the west’s most unspoiled recreational waters. Visit SwanValleyConnections.org/20th-anniversary-celebration for details.
